Another top weekend. Friday was a child and husband-free day for me and was all about ferrying stuff we're getting ride of to Flo's childcare centre. Have also finally managed to find a home for the TV (Scarlett's school) and if I can't shift the last two pieces of furniture we're selling, the people that have bought the house are happy to have them. Phew! On Friday night lovely Laura our friend, and sometime babysitter, popped in for a glass of wine and a cuddle with the girls, who she adores.

On Saturday morning Sam and Christy came over for tea and cake. They have just returned from a few weeks in England and got us excited about what's coming. Still on our minds however is Rob's elusive passport and visa. We've now accepted that there's a good chance I'll have to go ahead with the girls if his NZ passport fails to appear by June 18, the day we're supposed to fly out. My next big worry is the fact that my UK passport forms part of Rob's application and I won't be allowed to settle in the UK travelling on my Australia passport. My best case scenario is to plead my case at passport control with a photocopy of my British passport and hope there's someone nice on shift that day.

We took our minds off our passport nightmares with a fantastic afternoon at Charlie and Liv's. The Flemings came too, and with the kids consumed by a game of Masterchef, we sat down to a fantastic curry cooked by Charlie. On the way home we drove through the city to see the light show that forms part of the Livid festival that's on at the moment, curated by Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson. Loads of buildings including the town hall, Government house and the Opera house have been lit with changing light scenes. Very cool.

Yesterday we had Kirsty and Simon and the kids in for a late lunch of lamb shanks and mash. We toasted our brief but brilliant our friendship with a bottle of 1989 Bollinger. Hic.
PS: Rob has called to say my Uk passport has just arrived at home, alongwith his birth certificate. Hopefully that means his passport might be close behind and now at least he can apply for an Australian passport as the next best thing.

I think you"ll find it is the Vivid festival. One can hardly say Lou and Laurie are angry folk.
Also apologises for the tree in the centre of the night time shot. It was the only place I could put the camera that was flat and stable.
